Instructions
The OAPSE Northeast Scholarship Program is a program of scholarships available to children whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public-School Employees, OAPSE/AFSCME, Local 4, AFL/CIO. Under the program, two (2) scholarships of $1,500 each are awarded to the recipients selected from the applications who meet the eligibility requirements.
Any graduating high school senior who is the daughter or son of an active OAPSE member or whose legal guardian is an active OAPSE member and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any accredited college, university, business or technical school is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The scholarships may be used for any field of study. Must take ACT or SAT for any school which you are attending.

Things to know before Applying:

Complete the entirety of this “Applicant Process” in one sit down. You cannot save and go back.

Complete the “Student Section” of this form.​

Write an essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, on the subject of “What does the Union mean to you?/What Will Be the Union Role in the 21st Century.

Attached the essay to the application.

Have your parent or legal guardian complete the “OAPSE Parent or Guardian Section” of this form.

Attach proof of parent’s or legal guardian’s OAPSE membership card.​

Have your high school complete the “High School Section” of this form.

Make sure the complete application, all supportive documentation as per instructions, is postmarked no later than MARCH 1.

Make sure that your school gets the whole application with instructions; it is a must that these guidelines are met or it will be disqualified. Application must be complete when submitted.
Only those who have been chosen as winners will be notified in APRIL.
